RECENT NEWS: The first annual MCEF Community Olympics had ten teams and four sponsors!  About 100 people from age 4 to 85, men and women, children and even a dog (Ginger), had a great time.  Community fun and fellowship during the games, lunch and awards ceremony was uplifting.  If you used to have a golf team, plan to enter a team in these games next year. Helping seniors continue to live independently in their homes.

The MCEF Senior Rides program assists seniors age 60+ in the Mechanicsville, Virginia area who are not able to drive.  We also provide transportation for those who may have a medical condition that requires frequent trips for medical treatments such as physical therapy, chemotherapy or dialysis.

This free transportation program is for scheduled medical appointments, grocery shopping and for personal business (such as banking).  Our goal is to help seniors continue to live independently in their homes.

While we offer this as a free transportation service, donations are needed to sustain the program.   We appreciate your generous gifts.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:

MCEF may provide emergency financial assistance to help Mechanicsville residents pay essential bills and help the family avoid utility cut-off or eviction.  Most of the families who receive help are referred to MCEF by local churches or the Hanover Department of Social Services.
